The reason the entire Nazi thing happened is because the German people stopped thinking for themselves and let Herr Hitler do the thinking for them. They simply swallowed his tripe hook line and sinker.

Just something to keep in mind when you see someone on T.V and the radio and simply accept what they say without question and refuse to even consider actual facts.

That sounds dangerously close to an accurate description of a good number, if not the majority, of people in the US now.


That's why there's so much debate around the hot-button issues (racism, gun control, climate change, economic policy, etc.), especially among people who aren't directly involved in those fields or events. They simply accept what they're told, without digging for the facts or giving pause to consider the words being spewed at them. They're being, in most cases, sold an emotional argument in order to further the agenda of one side or another, facts and logic be damned.

*Edit: I was echoing your sentiment, Nelson, not trying to contradict... after reading this, it kinda felt like it was an argument against your comment. I just wanted to clarify.

Yes, it pleases me that you and I are so aligned in out thinking. But there are things that I continue to be concerned with. The leadership of the military that you mentioned is being gutted every day. And the ranks are changing. I don't know if the culture of our military will be the same in ten years or more. We as a nation, the people that make up the military are changing. The country's leadership HAS sucked for quite some time. But for the most part I have always viewed them as opportunistic thieves just trying to grab a bag of money before they had to leave office. But today's leadership seems to be interested in more than just the chance to line their pockets. As they say, they want to "fundamentally transform this nation". I hope you are more right than I am as this is a point of view I'd be happy to be wrong about.
