Holy Crap! I have lost data before, but never anything that massive haha. Still I can imagine the feeling, "Oh Sh#@, what the hell have I just done?" I bet he promptly went to the bathroom and lost his lunch. I know I would have. I think it is good they didn't go after the guy though. It is really easy to make mistakes like this some times.

Wonder what field of employment he will try next? Hope its not the military or intelligence. Maybe administrative assistant. Remember the 18 minutes of missing tape from the Nixon years? Perhaps a good reference for working in the Clinton household as an appointment secretary?

Give the man a break. He was working for the government and just following example.
In all fairness, it's not like he lost 38B$.
It cost about 200K$ to repair the damage. Still a lot of money, but not mind-boggling, although erasing a backup is always a dumb thing to do.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
