Well, a late addition to the Father Day thread. We have never been big on holidays, but this year I had a pleasant surprise. My youngest (male, 40) showed up on my doorstep yesterday. He had ridden his bike from Portland, OR out to Forest Grove, about 35 miles one way, to wish me a Happy Fathers Day. Don't see him too often, he has a busy life, so I was doubly delighted at this gesture. I live next door to my next oldest son. He is the most like me in the holiday celebrating area. We grunted at each other yesterday, something about these damn holidays. My oldest, a daughter lives in the mid-west and also is of the same ilk so I am not disturbed that I heard no words from her.
But reading all the admissions from all the 'manly men' I was reminded of an event when my daughter was seven. For a few weeks time back then she and I were in the same modern dance class together till the teacher felt I was ready for the 'grownups section'.
Happy Belated Fathers Day to all of us that have, had and will have in the future."The sharpening stones from time to time provide officers with gasoline."

I don't know if you can see it but... I still have glitter nail polish on my big toe! My kids have been gone for over a month!!
I can't get the stuff off!! That or I keep it on for sentimental reasons... I'll never admit it though .
