Default Internet scams rises to a home phone message.

Had a message on the home phone today when I got home from cardio rehab this morning.
" Hello this is Mr. Mervyn calling from the internal revenue fraud division. We have made a decision that you are to be charged with tax evasion and fraud. I am headed to the federal courthouse right now to receive a warrant for your arrest and detention. If you need any further clairification of these charges you are welcome to call 888-392-8407"
This is my first phone in scam. Anyone else received phone message scams? I recorded the message on my iphone and played it for the real IRS folks at the Fresno IRS. They mentioned that this has been going on today in my area code and (laughing a bit) said if we wanted you we would not call first. : )

I didn't get a phone call first. A letter, yes. I suspect if I didn't cooperate I would have gotten a knock on my door. Mine was just a regular old audit though....not fraud or evasion. It still felt like being in jail. I would rather be sprayed with OC in the face for three days straight than go through another audit.

It was so much better in the old days when all you had to do was send some money to the Nigerian Prince's lawyer and you got ten million in your bank account.
Now they want to arrest me right off the bat - where did the civility of first asking nicely go!

I think Bob should text a photo of his recent pivot hole cut to Mr. Mervyn & tell him, "This is what happened to the last guy who tried to take my money."

I called the number to screw with these people, but it had been shut off. No fun for me tonight I guess.
