Thread: Advertising my site.

I think this is likely more aimed in the direction of the moderators. However comments are warmly welcomed

I am currently putting together my portfolio of work for my website as I try to branch into freelance work. However I have lacked web clients forcing a need to make a few portfolio sites. Anyway I am in the process of creating one which is all about the classic things I love. Wet Shaving, Pipe Smoking, mens' accessorising and food.

There is no sales aspect to this site, it's purely me sharing awesome information. So I was wondering if it would be acceptable for me to post the site on here, for those who would be interested in having a look?

Generally advertising and market research is not allowed and portfolio does sound like advertising, so may be once you have something contact anybody on the staff so that we can take a look at the actual thing instead of just saying no from the start.

If you want something more challenging may be you could do something for SRP - there are number of projects that require real competence in working with not so well designed and implemented software, and those types of skills are probably more marketable than designing the websites you are talking about - with the later you still have to convince people that it's better than say what they can hash out on squarespace.
