I was checked by an audiologist who conducted a very lengthy hearing exam. It's the same frequency all the time and has been since childhood. The volume stays the same nearly all of the time but can increase for a time after being exposed to loud noises. For an example, if I were to shoot clays with a 12 gauge and use no hearing protection, my tinnitus would be amped up to 10 for a few days afterward. If I were to attend a loud concert without hearing protection, same thing. Same frequency, both ears as always, but most definitely the ringing would be louder for a time in those situations. My hearing itself was tested to be in the normal range with better than normal in low frequencies and normal in the high frequencies with only one ear just barely approaching the threshold of abnormal in the high frequency.

Maybe the temporary increase in volume of my ringing after being exposed to loud noises is something that affects anyone exposed to loud noises but mine happens to be identical to the frequency of my 24/7 Tinnitus?

Some years ago on the 4th of July for example, I was walking back from watching fireworks in the city of Minneapolis. Some idiot on a bike threw a lit M-80 near us. My Tinnitus was amped for days after that.
