I didn't realize I was a Zippo collector........
Got a few more scattered about I can't put my hands on at the moment.
I still carry and use one. Right now it's the brass USS NIMITZ one.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

Thanked: 884I had 2 NIB big lighters. Both of them had Ramsey Winch, Tulsa, OK with a 5 digit phone number. Came back off a run and my cousin who was living with me at the time decided they both needed to be used.........
They got used after that. One of those is packed away somewhere around here. The beat up Zippo with the signature on it belonged to my grand father. The other side of it is engraved with N71L. That N number belonged to a P-51 Mustang that he had some financial interest in back in the 60's. A gent named Jimmy Cook owned most of the plane. Jimmy had plans to race it but it never got done.
According to everything I can find out, the plane is amongst the missing. It was never reported wrecked/crashed. It was sold, so it's out there somewhere. LOLMember Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

Thanked: 884Small airstrip near me known as Hicks Field, had 200 acres of P-51's and P-38's parked as close as they could get them. They were waiting to be surplussed out and sold. Grass fire got started out there and the whole damn 200 acres of planes melted. They dozed into manageable piles and sold 'em for scrap metal.
