Really slow Priority Mail
My wife and I just got back from a day visting antique shops and there was a Priority Mail envelope waiting for us on the doorstep. It was from her sister in California and inside was a small gift. My wife remembered her sister asking a long time ago if she ever got something she had mailed to her a while back. It had never arrived. This got my wife to thinking and she checked the postmark on today's package.....Aug. 19th, 2006....8 months ago.
My wife's sister will be visiting up this weekend and this should make for fun conversation.

Thanked: 55One time I had a guy send me two razors to be keened. He said he needed help getting into straight razor shaving. I keened them and sent them back. After about two months they did not show up at his place. Feeling bad, I sent him two of my personal shavers to replace the lost razors. The day after I sent them I receive his razors back, with three attempts to deliver recorded on the package. I told him and them shipped his off to him again. Mine returned to me as he rejected the package - about a month later if if I recall. Funny thing is I was searching ebay for razors and there were the two I had keened for him, advertized as shave-ready! I guess straight shaving just wasn't for him, it's just a shame it took four months to find out!
Regards,
EL

Thanked: 0slow priority mail
Guess i was luckier than you guys. I sent a package priority mail last Dec.7 from Iowa to Ft. Stewart, Georgia. Didn't arrive until December 18. I know mail will be slower around Christmas. But had just recently made contact with my old tank commander from when I was stationed in Germany. He was getting ready to go to Iraq for his third tour of duty. I had sent him a new Buck knife and diamond sharpening stones. Was glad they got there before he shipped out. The local postmaster checked on the delivery for me several times. He did apologize for the delay. Guess it happens sometimes. At least it made it.

I generally ship with delivery confirmation. Several times things have arrived at their destination, but the confirmation never says so... if that happens you can file a form w/USPS and get your shipping charges refunded.

That is insane! I would call the post office just to see where a letter could possibly hide for 8 months?!?
