Thanked: 4827A great day
I had a great day at work today. A lot of it was just regular work stuff. I enjoyed it a lot. For those who don't know I work for the Canadian Coast Guard at a Search and Rescue Station. This morning had us out boating in our Zodiac Hurricane (inflatable boat). We were photographing nav markers in a narrow channel called the narrows. For best pictures we went at low tide, 2ft, giving us around five ft of water in the narrows. It is always cool to see what lies under the water on the higher tides. We have big tide swings here. After we went through taking pictures I had the chance to run it at 40 mph, it was rather exhilarating. Then on the way home the tide had changed and the wind was against the tide and I got to jump some nice standing waves. Back to the office and tested some new radio equipment, did some building maintenance. It was just an average day really, but I really enjoyed it. Does everyone else enjoy the routines of work? What makes for a fun day at work for you?

Routine drives me nuts! SSDD is terrible! Variety/stress makes fun.

Thanked: 2284I work for a general contractor in a small Mennonite town doing custom homes, Renos, Window replacements, fancy decks and many, many other smaller things. We even do crack filling in foundation walls now with a urethane based product. That's a lot of fun to do. But a good day for me is when I'm doing the finish carpentry, which I get to do a lot of. Hanging doors, casing, base board, fireplace mantels. I love doing that stuff.

Thanked: 4827Before I was with the CCG I worked part of the year in commercial fishing and part of it doing construction. I mostly did interior finishing, flooring, tile, drywall paint, cabinets, I can do it all, and enjoy that too. What I am not very good at and do not enjoy is paperwork. I'm ok with book keeping, but I hate writing reports and filling out forms. Those days are the ones that make me get all wound up.
