Maybe now the treehuggers will realize that singing kumbahyah does not make you bullet proof, and there are worse things than having a standing army and nukes on Belgian soil.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 3227Yes, due to the nature of humans and the states they create having a military and committing to war is a necessary evil. Definitely a last resort when all else has failed though not to be easily and eagerly embraced.

A very poignant editorial cartoon published today regarding Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, who was shot and killed while standing guard at the memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Wednesday morning.
This brought a tear to my eye.

Thanked: 4206Vickers did what needed doing with the stoic resolve most of us aspire to have in times of crisis.
His face, and his emotions that reflected just under the surface, during his ovation today in Parliament brought me to tears almost.
And the homage at the Pitt penguin game last night from our awesome neighbors south of the falls,,
Proud day today after a horrible mess and tragedy for the Cirillo family yesterday.
God bless.
