Oops, I got my facts slightly wrong.
Bought for £26,000
Insured for £26,000
Replacement value £45,000
Read it here.
In the UK it was compared to the Laurel & Hardy sketch, as well as our old TV adverts from the 70s for PG Tips tea bags. In the advert there were chimps dressed up as removal men, trying to move a mini-piano up some mini-stairs. They're making faces and pretending to talk, over which human voices have been dubbed:
Chimp 1: " 'Ere Dad, d'you know the piano's on my foot?"
Chimp 2: "No son, but if you hum it I'll play it."
Boom-boom-tish!

Thanked: 0My guess is they didn't buy direct from Bosendorfer. If they did, then Bosendorfer will (for the life of the piano) move it for you, including complete dis- and re-assembly. At least that was my understanding when school bought one a few years ago. Oh well, it's still sad.
