Federal laws trump state laws
I am not a smoker, but have visited the shops in Colorado. The ban of narcotics in this country is the most ludicrous set of laws. I don't understand how rational people can understand alcohol prohibition and how it caused so much havoc yet contend it would be any different with drugs. We need to legalize everything across the board and let people have their freedom to choose. Drugs aren't the problem...it's the black market on which they are sold! If people think there is any way to stop drug usage as a whole, I'm sorry to say, they are utter fools.
I did wonder if the guys I was with had forgotten some weed in their bags what would happen at the airport. Would they be cool and just have them toss it or haul them off on felony charges.Last edited by aa1192; 12-19-2014 at 12:26 PM.

Thanked: 1936IMO it's all about the taxes in regards to pot. Oklahoma is one of the largest producers of pot in the first place, why would we need to bring it from Colorado? This state line stuff will be interesting to see how it's played out...
Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. Please don't hesitate to contact me.

Driving through Kansas to the Kansas City Meet with Colorado plates, I expected to be profiled as many Coloradans had told me they had been. No problems though.
My understanding is that the legal pot in Colorado is way more expensive than black market pot. So since anyone in Oklahoma or Nebraska with pot would be illegal anyway, it seems pretty stupid to go to Colorado to pay more than what they would pay at home.

Thanked: 13245
Exact same up here in Idaho
People were laughing at the ISP and local LEO's as they thought there would be huge amounts coming across the WA border,,, The legal WA pot is so much more expensive it just hasn't been an issue..
It was a bigger deal in the media then on the road...

Jail all pot-heads & force them to enroll in ObamaCare before they can be released.

Thanked: 44As far as buying from a store or off the street, most people do not want to commit a crime. They are not given a choice due to the laws of where the live. The feds are screwing with the stores in Colorado just behind the scenes. The Feds regulate and back the banking industry. What do you do with money you make when the banking industry will not allow you to open a account? Now you have millions of dollars of the stores revenue and no where to safely deposit it. Now you have one stop shopping for the criminals. They get all the pot and maybe big money. I am sure there are plenty of shops that cannot afford big security guards
They will always find a way to screw you if they want to.
I heard the stores are looking at doing something on their own.
As far as crossing state lines, very similar to buying beer and then taking it home to a dry county. Heck, you cannot even taste a sample when you tour of the Jack distillery. It is a dry county.Last edited by SS502MC; 12-19-2014 at 11:55 PM.
