The Buffalo New Writes Aboot Canada eh?
Interesting article about Canadians from, "The Buffalo News", published today. Was written by a Canadian Gerry Boley.
I was especially impressed that the Canadian, "Avro Arrow" aircraft program was mentioned.
Was a fun read:

Yea, was a little over the top, I was glad to read about the Avro Arrow, a black mark on Diefenbaker to kill that program, and about Intrepid and Camp X, I did my 4th year thesis on the Special Operations Executive, specifically Operation Fortitude, about the cover and deception plans for Operation Overlord, and actually visited Camp X out in Whitby, very sad to see all that was left in 1986 was a small plaque in the middle of a barren industrial yard.
Originally it was disguised as a CBC transmitter station and relayed all the communications to the New York, to a man called, "Intrepid".

Thanked: 3223Don't get me started on the Avro Arrow Global Aircraft -- CF-105 Avro Arrow . Still makes me want to hurl thinking about it especially considering the fighter the Conservatives want to saddle us with now.

Thanked: 580A great read, thanks Phrank. Quite a few people I know have visited Canada and all had a great time, two of them still live there.

Okay, I got it finally. Great little tid bits of info there. Been in Canada once. Went thru from Detroit to New York. Pretty place and all of the Canadians I know are cool.
It seems we carry this competition thing too far sometimes. What ever you do don't read the comments :<00 Talk about depressing.Last edited by 10Pups; 01-03-2015 at 12:04 AM.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

It never ceases to amaze me how clean Windsor looks from the Detroit side of the river. Once you cross the bridge and look back at Detroit you see just how far we have fallen. Decaying burnt out houses, piles of coke/coal dust , just a cloud of despair from a Canada point of view. I often threaten to move to Windsor and keep US citizenship. But crossing the border can be a tear your car apart nightmare if you catch a border guard having a bad day.
Your only as good as your last hone job.

Thanked: 4206Nice find, thanks Andrew.
A good read from a historical relevance perspective. We've had our moments in history for sure.
