More often than not,my mail box is filled with junk mail, flyers and other unwanted crap. The time is past where hand written letters are a legitimate form of communication . I would be happy if the USPS were eliminated or privatised . It is a bloated ineffecient dinosaur which no longer serves a purpose. Ok , I'm done.

I can't stand UPS...they're crooks as far as I'm concerned...there is a class action lawsuit going on against them right now for their, "brokerage" fee's. If I get anything shipped with them (eBay Global Shipping), they will charge an exorbitant fee to clear customs. For instance, anything from the US shipped to Canada under $200.00 is duty free, UPS will charge me a $40.00 "brokerage" fee on top of already double what USPS would charge for shipping...unbelievable.
I try to avoid UPS whenever possible...IMO, the USPS is superb...I send and receive stuff from the US and have not yet had any problem.

I've had good luck with USPS too, other than an occasional mishap. Nothing that didn't get straightened out. Unfortunately that may be "the good old days."

USPS lost one of my packages in August. In late December I got a letter from them with a piece of the box that was left saying that they found the piece of box in their distribution center. The letter was asking whether or not I wanted them to look for the item??? Uhhh YEAH!!! The search continues......

I live in a rural area, and your experiences may differ. But if the postal driver has been given the option of leaving a little card in your mail box rather than disrupting his route, drive another half mile to actually deliver the package, then , human nature says he will just leave the little card. Again...The service you get from the USPS depends on where you live. In my case the service is atrocious .If the item is sent by UPS I receive it. If it comes via Fedex I receive it. When it comes courtesy of the USPS, I must RETRIEVE It.

I have watched tracking and have the package go right past my post office to another post office then the opposite wayto one it passed along the way to finally be delivered a day or two later.
