RAD is gone but HAD maybe coming back ..
although i have not been doing this for years like most on here ,( i think im right around the 3 yr mark ) i did suffer the RAD stage where i was buying razors just to buy razors and build up the stock ... but the last couple months or so i have found myself down sizing greatly and chasing quality instead of quantity !! (i did splurge once but when it arrived i wondered why i bought it ..lol) ive found myself very picky when looking at razors now , but my newly mind twisting picky nature has helped others as i have passed some on , sold some , and passed some more on !! in a way i think i have saved myself some cash-ola , but now the HAD is kicking back in !! of course buy this synthetic and that one and thats all you need ! but i wanna try this natural or that natural and one of them is all i need right ?? WRONG !!! i want to buy every coti i see now , sold a few synthetics to buy more coti's , and now im starting to buy different color thuri's to see the difference that im not gonna be able to notice anyway !!!..lol
so i guess at this point all i can do is hope BAD & SAD dont come knocking after i get my fill of stones cause my 2 strops and limited brush selections seem to be all i NEED !! but wait !? isnt that how the other disorders started ...lol..
not a lusterious thread but this was going through my mind and i figured id put it "paper" in a internet kind of way ..lol

Thanked: 4827Yes, as collectors it is a tough go not to want everything that we don't have and extra of the things we like. RAD has been a tough one for me. I am still thinning but the prices were crazy in the pre christmas time and I couldn't help myself. The blades are just showing up now. There were some crazy low prices on some nice razors, especially out of Japan. Quite a few Henckels too and that is my week spot for sure. I have several new Henckels now, almost enough NOS 17's for a seven day set, at prices that got my RAD crazy. I am fortunate in that my HAD is taken care of in the form of rock hounding, for the most part. I have many strops already and quite a few very nice brushes. Soap are also in abundance!
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Henckels are beautiful blades....been taking my time looking for a #14....soaps and now shaving sticks soaps (SSSAD??) are still a killer for my PayPal account....

Rad is God's way of reminding us we still have a little kid inside us.
Had is our doctor's way of telling us we have too much money.
'No need to ask how I would know.

I just did a google search for a synonym for HAD .......... slippery slope ! ..........
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1184gooser I will send you some pics of my rock collection. Have you looked at Fernslers Ruby or Frictionites ? I got this new Tonsorial Gem that will make you drool. I finally got a mint Dubl Duck hone with no box so when I tested it I was amazed at the speed at which it refreshed. I won't go into which ones are best for bringing toes and heels back in line with the rest of the edge but I can say the dinky ones really have a place in anyone's honing arsenal when it comes to repair. You do know which Eschers are best after a coti right ? The big ones with labels are the ones to get :<0)
Okay I am admitting it for the first time. Hi my name is Jerry and I have a problem with rocks. Especially flat ones.Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I don't know if there is a cure for any of these disorders but the Suehiro 20k is acting like "the patch" as it relates to hones.
