More toys.
This has been a long week. RAD got me good. I was able to gain a 6/8 Fred Reynolds a 6/8 Joseph Allen a 5/8 Wostenholme a Sheffield and now a Perfection Razor (one I've never heard of). This will give me something to play with for a while. I know the shefffield brand and the perfection razor will need a lot of cleaning up so I'm taking eBay out of my computers favorite column. What I had to give for these wasn't very much so I don't feel too bad. Maybe one of these days I'll get half way descent at cleaning up these old relicts I know I can't keep them all but it's fun to play with them. when I do get them cleaned up i'll try to lay them out and take photos and post them.

If I tried to keep them all I would probably feel like that little fellow in the movie the hobit that went around saying my precious all the time. Also if I did keep them all and died before my wife she would dig me up and give me a cussing about having to deal with them all. She fusses at me enough now I don't want to be fussed at after i'm dead.

Thanked: 4827The RAD was intense for me in the pre Christmas area. There were so many razor at low starting bids and no bidders. I feel your pain. I have soooo many razors to work on and all of the associated supplies, but I find myself spending my restoration time cruising EvilBay for more. I get bored when the prices are higher and work on razors. I need to spend more time working on then and less looking for more.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

The last toy
This is the one I was waiting on. I was afraid of braking the scales but I didn't have worry about that because when it got here I found that the bottom pin on the front side was already broken. It had been closed so tight that it pushed the scale out so far it cracked at the pin. The blade had some rust on it but that cleaned up with elbow grease and wet dry sand paper. 220-400-800-1200 and 2000 grit it cleaned up rather nice. the scales on the other hand I was lucky enough to have had a set of horn scales on a completely warn out 5/8 wpstenholm blade. I changed them out. I put it with the other razors I got last week to be honed. I know the photo isn't that good I got it off the eBay At any rate if it hones up ok I'll have another shaver. It's a 5/8 and I believe it's a 1/4 hollow.
