Thanked: 3227I dunno, we have been catching coffee on sale at between $5.65 US and $6.48 US for a 2 lb. tin lately at the local stores. That is $7-$8 CAD for a 930 gram tin. Mind you that is run of the mill coffee not specialty stuff. It is normally, ballpark, $12.00 CAD/$9.70 US

For some of the good coffees, the cost for green un-roasted is about 5-25 USD per pound which gives about 12 oz. roasted. I still roast because I like good coffee! And a few cups a day satisfies me. That is not that I am a snob, I often buy Gas Station coffee in the cup which adds up to about USD$1 per half ounce, brewed= about USD$64 per pound or $4 per ounce. Nice markup..what?

I've been buying Starbucks beans because they are easily available around here, and now that there is a Starbucks in the local Target I can get 2 pounds with the second pound at half price. Talking whole bean.
Then, when I've finished the pound, I take the empty bag to a nearby stand alone Starbucks and get one free large coffee in exchange for the empty bag. So I don't know what the per oz or per pound cost is, but that is what I do.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 3227When you guys are talking whole bean coffee I still see my grandmother grinding the coffee beans in an old wooden box coffee grinder. Good coffee and a pleasant memory.
