You are the one saying that US should do it all on its own, not me.
I've been saying all along that this has to be solved politically through international cooperation because US does not have the resources (even if it's in terms of not willing to pay the price) to achieve the objectives it wants to achieve.

Nope not I
And it has been over a year since Daesh (the JV team) burst onto the world stage and rolled up the Iraqi army... So politics aren't working that well
Tons of talk some support and little action

edit:
Another thing that is becoming more and more clear is that even Muslim Forces that are willing to fight are not so keen on doing anything except to protect their own territories... Was listening to a Kurdish spokesman today drive home that point quite clearly, they have no real intention of hunting down any of these groups and killing them..Last edited by gssixgun; 02-25-2015 at 04:36 AM.

Actually the politics is working (for now, it may stop anytime), Iraq has a new government that is better than the previous one.
US has apparently given up on its 'regime change' policy on Syria and down the road negotiate a compromise with Russia (and may be Iran in the background).
Apparently when US refuses to do the job on its own other countries eventually start pitching in a meaningful way. But building real coalition from a window dressing to give some semblance of legitimacy to a US campaign takes time.

Thanked: 13249PS:
I imagine you sitting at your keyboard shaking your head saying to yourself "Why doesn't he understand what I am saying here"
That is exactly what I am doing "Why doesn't he see that unless we hunt them down and kill them SOON more people are going to die horrible deaths"
Two different view points
But I am outta this now, I have made my points

The problem isn't 'killing them', we've killed them many times before and others come to take the place of the ones we killed.
You can't kill ideology or religious interpretation - I don't think it has ever happened in the history of the world.
The only way to destroy terrorism of any ideology is to make it unacceptable to the society and keep it suppressed with normal law enforcement means.
There was no such level of terrorism in Iraq and Syria under Saddam or Assad - you need moderately strong government. US toppled the governments that kept terrorism at bay in both of these places - it didn't even bother to complete the job in Syria and left Iraq with a weak government which was oppressive to a large compact minority. I don't think anybody understood how weak the Iraq government is and how much it is hated in the sunni areas until ISIS took over them, but I think it demonstrates rather well that just killing off bad guys and leaving doesn't really address the problem.
In honing language - you can take a worn and chipped ebay special to an escher and spend a lot of time, but you will never get it to shave properly until you solve the real problems with the appropriate tools.

Let me just throw this in here to sort of kind of get this thread back on topic:
The disappeared: Chicago police detain Americans at abuse-laden 'black site' | US news | The Guardian
This doesn't just happen to foreigners. It's happening to Americans as well.
But hey, anything goes for the good cause eh
Btw, this reminds me of the Borat movie when he said 'We support your war of terror'Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
