Upcoming Old Fashioned Farming/Agricultural Museum Event
Hi All!
Last year I posted about a wonderful Non Razor Related Event held back where I was born as were my father and grandfather; (Pomeroy Washington).
My great grandfather homesteaded there. He registered his brand (the Diamond D) at the Alpowai P.O on December 20th 1887 in the Washington Territory.
The museum is a wonderful place, I am very proud to have been able to donate several pieces to it.
Only a few of the Davis family are still present, the many other family members (both through blood and or marriage) are still thriving. My cousin still farms part of my great, great grandfather's homestead that is on my mothers side of the family.
The annual event is held the first weekend of April, come rain or shine. This year is is Friday the 3rd, Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th. Saturday is the big day.
Here's the link to my thread about it last year;

I'm working on a display of a W&B Frameback circa 1840-1860 that Glen put period correct horn scales on and Tom donated a very old strop to go along with it. Martin came up with some historic prints and my friend Bill did some wonderful work for the diagram of the razor and other items. I'll post about it when it's finished.
Also Very Close by is the Pataha Flour Mill, you might want to check this out also;

My father used to talk about trading X amount of wheat for X amount of flour there.
I do hope at least some of my friends here in the Pacific North West can make it to a wonderful family event.

Re-Opening This Thread
Well with Easter over and some time to post, here's a little bit of what was going down at the Old Time Farming Exibition at The Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum.
There was some Real 'Horse Power'
And some 'Mule Power'
And there was some 'Tuckered Out Power'
How was the mail delivered back on the day? Here's how! Courtesy of an Old Friend's Great Grandfather 'Mr. Trescott' and his delivery buggy. According to my friend and the information provided at the museum it could take 3 days in the winter to finish his route.
OH! And there was Musical entertainment but gentleman wasn't playing the piano, it was playing itself! YUP! A Player Piano/one of two on display

Wow! That looks like a great event yall have. So rich in history and with personal ties. And damn straight be proud of that heritage! Not too many folks know their own.
I'll have to make a point of coming to it sometime down the road. Book my holidays and do a drive from Saskatchewan to there. Lots of site seeing to do between there and here.....Is it over there or over yonder?
