Feel Good Picture of the Day - Part II
Astro-physicist Steven Hawking gets
out of the wheelchair and experiences
weightlessness.
Hawking, a mathematics professor at the University of Cambridge who has done groundbreaking work on black holes and the origins of the universe, has the paralyzing disease ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
from Fox News
it sure made me feel good to see this - for a man whose mind soars so high to be confined to a wheelchair - well, this picture really struck a note with me.

Thanked: 0Yeah I am with you on that Lou. It just saddens me (and by God please dont get offended by this) that he has to talk with an American accent, because the technology he uses to talk comes from there. I wish he had a nice Queens English accent like you can hear when you read his work. I think so many people assume he is American or European, when he is one of the greatest Englishmen alive (IMHO).

That is really quite amazing. And the smile on his face really does hit ya right there. Thanks for sharing Lou.

Thanked: 9I always assumed he doesn't even care / notice that he is confined to a wheelchair, to be honest.
And yes - I did think he was American. One way or another, people like him do not belong to a particular nation, imo... I am just shooting the breeze here but I doubt he has strong feelings of national identity? (obviously, I can be proven wrong easily by quotes from interviews, etc.)
Cheers

SO....... if Mr. Hawking is so smart why doesn't he figure out a way to make his voice machine speak with an accent??
I'm just saying......
