Thanked: 4826I have no idea how the Japanese post works but it is certainly efficient. I have to say that parcels from the US to Canada take longer than those from Japan or the UK. A package from the Eastern US often takes about the same amount of time as one from central Canada. The how it works is really a mystery to me.

Agreed with RezDog, I've had packages arrive from Japan to my door usually 7 business days after I ordered...blew me away how quick it is.

I can go you one better. I sent a razor out for restoration via Canada Post. Dropped it off in Mississauga near my work on the 6th. Destination is in Toronto. Total distance it needed to ship was 27 km (~17 mi). It STILL has not arrived, showing as "in transit".

I've shipped to Canada and from the US the packages are drop kicked from office to office by a one legged man on crutches.
Coming this way is not bad for speed.

Thanked: 1184I always wondered where those old saddle bags and ponies went our postal system used to use
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Well, remember that the Pony Express could move mail and small packages between the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts in ten days. Our modern postal services sometimes struggle to match that.

I've often ordered watches from Japan and it takes less time to go from Tokyo to Customs in the U.S than to go from Customs to me.
