Performances by both McQueen and Hoffman in Papillon were STELLAR. Wish I had not lost the DVD.

Papillon is one of my favorite flicks-love Steve McQueen!

Go to Half.com (it's part of FleaBay) and you can buy it brand new for $3 (I don't know about shipping to the Great White North)

It is a great movie, even if it varies from the book. Another great movie that doesn't follow the book is One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. In the book it's the big Indian who is telling the story. At least according to my reading loving son.
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Picked it up at the big video games & movies re-seller in town yesterday. Watched it today. Still a great movie! Didn't spot a scuba diver in the final scene(s).

I lit up real big when I spotted a scene that Star Trek: TNG "played homage" too. Twice, iirc. When he's losing his marbles in solitary confinement, and he has the "wasted life" hallucination about a judge wearing red flanked by a jury in the desert. That was used for one or two Star Trek episodes involving the omnipotent Q. Great stuff on both accounts.

Also, there was some "movies are make-believe" straight shaving
Decades away from full-beard growing abilities.
