Wages are a funny one. Most people have a variety of things they do so they can stay busy, either on a seasonal basis or a regular basis.
There is still a lot of trading that goes on around here. I did a locksmith call just the other day for 4 salmon and two halibut.It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
