It is a Hemingray No 9. Very common and one site lists its value at $1. I just tried to call my mother but the only building site on the property was abandoned in the 1950's. One bachelor shack [12 X20 feet] was around till the early 1960's as a hunting shack but that was let go because even then the kids kept messing with it. I don't think they ever had a phone or electricity there. The one brother died going to the spring to get water because their hand dug well was dry. The other brother couldn't live there anymore because he was afraid of ghosts. He moved up out of the valley about 3/4 mile and they found him dead half out of a window and the window had fell shut on him.

Mom just returned my call and verified that there never was electricity or phone closer than 3/4 of a mile to where I found that insulator. I like that you have to go up to the top of the hill to get cell service. A good place to get away!

I see the the ad on the page showed up for better cellphone coverage!
I love that place for many reasons but one of the main ones is that 65 mile from a major metropolitan area you can "disappear".
