    Happy Canada Day to everyone and a special thought to Newfounlanders who are also officially remembering, sadly, the virtual annihilation of the Newfoundland Regiment 99 years ago at Beaumont Hamel during the battle of the Somme.

    Thanks Bob, and the same to you from the other end of the province!

    I have been celebrating in what has become my traditional manner: listening to the band that none other than Stompin Tom described as the 'most Canadian band in the world'. I miss these guys.



    Have a great day everyone, and if you're caught in the drought out west, be careful with those fireworks. There are already more than enough fires to go around.
