Default ...like a crack addict just out of prison.

I just couldn't do it, no matter how hard I tried, all of the therapy and psychotropic drugs, support groups and electroshock therapy (if grabbing a live wire by mistake while fixing the dryer counts), I still could not resist the urge to troll through familiar grounds. I tried to stay away because hanging around here I was spending to much money on all the accouterments that go with straight razor shaving. I still shave with one but I haven't bought another since I have been away from the mad house but one day back and I am once again checking the Bay for straight razors and such. Why am I so weak and susceptible to the siren call of a Wostenholm or Dahlgren razor? To be honest, I have missed the madness.

You should reward yourself for coming back with some nice shaving soap and a new brush........and maybe a new razor. What harm could come of it ????

As defined so eloquently in Conrad's, "Heart of Darkness" - there is the terror and the horror, and the chilling difference between the two.

The terror of trolling your old grounds and fear buying, buying, and yearning and buying...and the actual horrible act causing the Horror - looking at the receipts in your Inbox with all the tracking info on your new purchases, and realizing, as you descend into the Shame Spiral, that you now have to post in the, "What have you got in the Mail" thread.

    I know, the Horror.

That is very true. Shaving soap may be more addictive than new razors.

Some of us can get by with the occasional "maintenance dose" others go on full blown shave stuff benders. At least you can sell the stuff you don't need...lol!!
