Like (I assume) many on this forum, making my own razors has been a goal of mine since I first joined and saw the creations of Mr Lewis and Mr Sprecher and I have since been window shopping for all the tools and equipment that I'll need/want to have when i make the plunge as well as doing a lot of reading, carefully analysing the design of razors that I like or find interesting and doing a lot of sketching on razors that I'd like to make. I haven't had the economy to justify it though.

This last year I've been reading up my grades at a technical base year(my SRP attendance really suffered) and next week when "hazing"(for lack of a better word) is over I'll start studying material design(formerly and still popularly known as Bergsingenjör) at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. It's heavily focused on metal and ceramics but we'll also learn a lot about polymers and fibers so I'm quite excited about getting a more in-depth understanding of the metallurgy aspect of razor making even though I still haven't decided if that's the field I want to end up working in..
