    Oh hell yeah!! Thank you so much for sharing this!! Wow! What a warrior!! A Highly decorated individual that put his life on the line many times for his country. I come from a family of veterans and Warriors and Max is one that stories are told and songs are sung about. What an honor! It's not often that men of this caliber come along and when they do you know it. Thanks again to everyone involved and to Max for kicking ass for his family and this country and setting a real life example for the younger ones coming up.

    The family never had any doubt of that! As I said, I'd heard about this 'Warrior' all of my life.

    Once the replacement medals arrived at the custom display makers (he's a retired Air Force Veteran)., he called me and was very impressed! He actually called Max a hero and a bad ass solider.

    I told him that we never had any doubt about it, but it was nice to have it echoed by others who had served.

    Just as trivia, the Navy and Marine Corps graduates of the Basic Airborne Course wear lead wings until they complete five additional jumps under various conditions once assigned to a unit.

    Fantastic job Roy!
    Thanks to all who are serving & those who have.

    And to all who have gone to be with God…………….
    May the blessing of the rain be on you~
    the soft sweet rain.
    May it fall upon your spirit
    so that all the little flowers may spring up,
    and shed their sweetness on the air.
    May the blessing of the great rains be on you,
    may they beat upon your spirit
    and wash it fair and clean,
    and leave there many a shining pool
    where the blue of heaven shines,
    and sometimes a star.

    Today my younger brother Ray and I traveled to Kendrick Idaho and presented Max Sheffler's immediate family with his Tribute Display. We met Max's niece Sharon and then traveled to a local eatery to meet with her mother Helen and stepfather Bob. After a very nice lunch with lots of stories both about family history and some funny times I presented the display to Max's oldest sister Helen.

    Helen and Bob needed to get home and Sharon took my brother and me up to the local museum where she has spent the last 5-6 years of her life working on not only the building of the displays but resurrecting the building that was built in I believe she said 1904. She's done a wonderful job and it shows how much she cares about the museum.

    Here's some pictures from today. Helen and me right after taking the display out of the box. The look on her face says it all;

    Then Bob, me and Helen;

    Here's Sharon with the display in the Military Section of the museum and again you can tell how pleased she was with the tribute. Yes those are WWI uniforms in the background.

    I took a quick pic of these. Look closely at not only what they are, but whose name is on them.

    It was a glorious day, one that was so fulfilling to finally bring Max home to the family.

    I again want to thank Ian and Bob for helping me make this possible for without their help, this would still be Just a Dream of Mine instead of a Reality. I hope to have the secondary display with Max's picture and descriptions of what he awards were for done in the near future and thanks to Bill's help that too will become a Reality.

    I hope all will enjoy.

    Thanks my friend. To see the look on Max's sister Helen's face made it all worth while, I just wish that Ian and Bob could have been there also.
