Thanked: 1587Biometric IDs are still, especially on consumer electronics, a bit more of a gimmick than a serious security option. Or at least that's what I've been told.
Case in point, my sister in law updates iphones every time a new one comes out and I watched one of my nephews bypass her fingerprint security with a Google search and a piece of sticky tape. He then had lots of fun changing all her contact names into Game of Thrones characters ...(I may have added one or two myself, can't remember now...)
Anyhoo, moral to the story - either don't have anything massively important on the phone, or use a PIN or password. Personally I prefer the first choice - there's nothing on my phone except phone numbers and some music basically.
