Calls for segregation in Britain?!
I came across a you tube video on my IPad (too buggy an app on IPad) which featured a television program talking about segregation on public transport of men and women. Feminazzis are getting way out of hand in Britain. The modern world is a living nightmare I know previous decades had their problems but I so very often wish I was born forty years earlier.

Thanked: 3795Not aware of such a call, but was it from a feminist faction or a religious one?

Thanked: 3223It does not appear to be an acceptable solution to the ,apparently, growing problem of sexual harassment on British public transport. That seems to be the view of women as well as men.

40 years ago there were still issues and comparing anyone to nazi's except nazi's is usually the last point an argument will get to according to an article I read. There is nothing wrong with people asking for a change if they think it is for the better and then it is up for open discussion, it probably shouldn't be dismissed as "X"ist nonsense without looking at the relative merits. There have been a umber of cases of women being sexually assaulted on the London underground system so a carriage that was effectively safe for them wouldn't be a bad thing.

Thanked: 1081I spent 3 years using the London underground every day. In rush hour your packed in like sardines, its not nice. Women only carriages would not work. The sheer number of people using public transport would mean only a small percentage of women could actually use the "safe" carriages.

Thanked: 1587See, in my opinion this is why things never get done. Instead of focussing on the real and important issue (violence against women) people tend to (or deliberately) focus on the trivial and tangential symptom of that issue - in this case an (IMO) ill-conceived thought bubble from a politician.
Violence against women is a huge issue in every culture that I've looked at. And the common thread in that violence is men. And unless men step up and take some responsibility it will continue, simple as that.
And by take responsibility I mean speaking up if you suspect domestic violence is occurring, respecting and showing respect to all women (and men for that matter), calling people on things they say that are misogynistic, sexist etc.
Anyway, sorry for the rant.
