    Default Multi tools

Just wondering who carries a multi tool daily and what you like to carry. I'll start by including what myself and family carries. I have a recently new Leatherman Sidekick I carry at work and also have a Surge I carry for outdoor activities. I also have a Gerber that stays with my flintlock kit. My wife is a chef and carries a Leatherman skeletool daily, my 11 year old is getting a Leatherman Sidekick for Christmas. My oldest Son is off with the Army and currently has his issued Gerber and a cheap multi he carries on his tack vest. He is getting a Leatherman MUT for Christmas. Before anyone comments, we do seem to have many Leatherman tools, the Gerber was my first and it works well but I like the selection Leatherman has. Never tried the Swiss army tools but I'm sure they are top notch.

i always carry a Leatherman PST. it's one of their earlier models which they no longer make, so when i lost the one i'd been carrying for over 15 years i quickly found another NOS on ebay and ordered it. i just like its size and the features it has, plus i'm used to it. I don't really use the knife because i usually carry a small folding type knife that takes the utility knife blades, but i use one of the tools almost every day.

In my work, I use my multi tool about 25 times per day. I have a habit of loosing them and have to get a new replacement about every two years. I have owned several Gerbers (all ended up lost or severely broken), a Leatherman (dropped into a sewage lift station), and now a Victorinox. All have their strengths and weaknesses. My next will probably be a Leatherman.

On the job I carried a Gerber on my gun belt, instead of a knife. Now my favorite is the Surge. I don't carry it everyday though. I keep a multi tool close by one in the car & several in the house.
When I'm in another country, I always carry a multi-tool. The Wingman is my choice then, lighter than the Surge.

That Surge looks great. For me, the most used tools are the knife, pliers, scissors and Philips screwdriver... and don't forget the bottle opener.

I have quiet a few multi tools mostly no name ones. Of the ones I have the husky brand one I have is my favorite. However I find them to bulky for everyday carry they stay in my car and tool boxes. For everyday I carry a gerber Bear Grylls pocket tool takes up almost no space in a pocket and has all the most needed tools on a daily basis. http://www.smkw.com/large/knife/G1050.jpg

i have a leatherman wingman, which i use hunting and fishing and a much older leatherman super tool. which is the general car and home use as it is much less intuitive to use but has a stronger set of tools

This was on sale at Amazon - and solves the "what to get (insert name here) for Christmas" question....
    Thanks for the suggestion.

On the job I carried a benchmade Automatic Knife for years. Off the job I carried an Al Mar Multitool. These days I mostly carry a Victorinox watchmakers multitool.
