    Default Christmas 1914 western front.

I think it is an interesting episode in history especially relevant this time of year and the global situation generally. There is a lesson in it for all, even those who do not celebrate Christmas. Beware of those who roil the waters with fear and hate.

Thanks for sharing that beautiful story, Bobh. I don't remember who said it, but it bears repeating here: "It's hard to kill a man after you've seen a picture of his family." Merry Christmas all! Aaron

It reminds me of a gentleman i used to fish with when I was younger.
He fought in the hedge rows during WWII, and told me stories like this one.
Where the Germans and Americans got together, shot a few hares , threw granades into rivers and collected fish. Then feasted, drank wine and sang songs together.
Then comenced to shooting at each other the next day
