You already started?? How to connect: Back the same way they were. Shadowing the electrician you'll be happy to see how simple it is- but happier knowing that it's right. Good thing you're in Canada and close to equator and not some place cold like Hawaii- I feel bad, didn't mean to scare you into freezing tonight either. I would think you could put it back together like it was and flip the power back on. Unless you're telling me your box says "federal pacific" on it. In which case, no reason to turn it on. Do you have pets or kids?
*IF* not and *IF* the house is properly wired and smoke alarms have good batteries/ are functioning- you should be able to keep that breaker off and still power your furnace unless you have a pellet stove or something. Assuming you isolated the circuit before starting. Not that a night of camping at home sounds all that bad- better than camping at a hotel while dealing with insurance I'd imagine.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I figured you would be getting your answers before tearing into it.Japanese-Whetstones and physics it's all just a sea of particles. "If I could remember the names of all these particles, I'd be a botanist." - Enrico Fermi

LOL
The power to the whole house is on except the to area where the outlet is at. We "tripped" the breaker to that outlet. The rest of the house is fine.... No way I'd cut all the power off...... It's nice and warm outside here right now...... Only -6F/ -21C...... T-shirt weather......Is it over there or over yonder?

Haha! Thanks. Good man. Was a little concerned there for a minute. Well, even if you did- your beer would still be cold, so what's to worry about?

We got it done!
My buddy came over and he added a few items to what we had.... Hooked it all up and all is good now.
Just took some waiting and lot's of patience.
Glad that is over....and I learned some things too.
Thanks to everyone who provided info on here!Is it over there or over yonder?
