He helped give Stevie Ray Vaughn his start to the big leagues. Stevie played guitar on David's "Lets Dance" album. I remember staying up late (back when you thought being up late was the coolest thing) and watching David on "The Midnight Express". Ground control to Major Tom, you really made the grade.

As the movie trailer said of him..."one of the few true originals of our time."
For anyone who has not see The Man Who Fell To Earth, I highly recommend it. It's weird, but good.

Thanked: 44Hearing of the death of famous people I grew up knowing (not personally), such as Bowie, always brings my own mortality crashing back into my consciousness. If guys like this, with all their money and contacts, can't make it past 69, what hope does the average man stand? I always figured I'd make the century, things such as this make me re-evaluate my estimate.

I beleieve so, although I've never seen it.
I am pretty sure the wife owns a copy if Labyrinth.
