Boilermaker 1st Class Welder by trade
Currently the Senior Mechanical Estimator for Downer Australia, Central Queensland Branch & been here since 1998 (18 years)
I'm a mechanical engineer, could have my EIT certificate if I send the state some money and my transcripts. But, I like to work for small, family owned businesses and they usually don't care too much about that stuff. I currently work at a German company that makes workholding equipment, hammers, aviation parts and "standard parts". Basically, I design fixtures and answer the hard questions.
SWMBO recons all I do is "push my Luck"

I'm a training and development manager with real passion for what I do. I especially love attending courses myself where I get to see and try new methods. Typically such courses will have an opportunity to train the group on a subject matter of your own choice, using what ever new methods have been presented. The looks I get when I pull out a razor are always priceless, especially from the facilitators as they worriedly wonder if the venues insurance will cover whatever I'm about to do.
The last 15 years working as an Operating Engineer for local 891 NYC. I am currently working in one of NYC's public schools. I have done almost everything. Viewed on a map it is quite funny as everyone else has a decent area and I have a little circle. Everything commercial in there from cafes, fancy restaurants, high rise buildings and hotel's is mine to do. Been in there six and a half years now so gotten to know plenty of people and good places to go
Retired. (Translation: backpacking/hiking, informal shooting competition, sometimes active in gun legislative issues in IN and surrounding states.)
Some consultant work in the pre-retirement arena of electronics and mechanical engineering. But... only when the offer is more interesting than, and doesn't interfere with, the first paragraph's activities.
Law Enforcement, my 38th anniversary is coming in May. Retired from the first department about 8 years ago and will hopefully retire again in three years. Most of my time was spent as a major case detective but now my low stress retirement job is as a classification deputy in the jail, still a certified deputy but too old to chase tail lights on the midnight shift and the wife has told me my road days are over.
