Is there a geoligist in the house??
I have a new natural hone made from some sort of conglomerate of dark blue rock and quartz or some other kind of crystal.
If you would go look and give me an opinion please.

Well, a true conglomerate or puddingstone as its called will appear on the outside surface to actually be separate rocks cemented together. Is that the case? It doesn't appear to be conglomerate to me. The first thing you need to do is determine if the white stuff is quartz or calcite or marble. You could do it by scratching it with a piece of quartz or dropping some acid on it. Like I said in the other post it could be many things. Any idea where in the U.S it comes from? That could be a vital clue especially if it came from a mining region. To try and identify it by the photo would be sheer guesswork without any other info. There are many blue minerals and rocks, flourite, apatite, calcite, quartz, feldspar, serpentine, all kinds of copper minerals, minerals with titanium and those with aluminum even halite (salt) are common possibilites.

hmm
So how about if I were to put it in your hands?
I had it dunked in Limeaway earlier to clean the rust from the backside and no bubbles.
Same when I just dropped a chip in toilet bowl cleaner, no bubbles.
Next idea? How bout an address to send it to so you can poke it with your finger?
Where did it come from? A pile of rocks big enough to fill the back of a pickup that my friends brother had collected while wandering around the US.Last edited by gratewhitehuntr; 05-25-2007 at 03:18 AM.
