Thread: My Smartphone & Me.

I used to have some friends who would use their phone when we hang, but they moved few years ago.
Now the people I hang out with either don't do it or some don't own cell phones/don't have data plan.

Just last night we were at a local bar and got to talking about some old movies and I was thinking to myself that it is like it was in the 90's or early 2000s - people tried to remember things instead of pulling a cell phone and looking it up. I wasn't even considering reaching for my phone. (Well at one point one person did, but he was a visitor from another state, not really a part of the group.)

I'm certainly happy to have my phone especially with LTE coverage in 99% of the places I go, but I don't feel I have to stay attached to it. It's there if I need it for something, but I am not running my life with it.

If it were not having family, son, needing to contact me in an emergency; then I would say to h*ll with all phones.

If you want to talk to me, then find me or write me a letter.

I love to travel overseas,,, no phone, no gun,,,, I relax, see everything in different light.

Phones & computers are soul snatchers,,,,,,,,,,,

Here I sit at 2am finger punching notes to old men,,,,,,

There must be more to life,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Ah, I've been there before! Usually lay down, check the thread update e-mail waiting for me, then think to myself "okay, time for sleep!... ... after I check 'Member Introductions'..."

As anyone who knows me on a personal basis, my relationship with my smartphone is that of an abandoned child. Most people that know me are increasingly annoyed by the fact that my phone is always on mute, in another room, or being ignored. I don't like being that plugged in or available. When was the last time you had a "remember that time when" moment with your phone? I think of all the times I went to Vegas with my buddies and all the fun we had. Today, you'd see everyone staring at their phones instead. How can you ever look back and say "those were good times" when you spent it staring at a phone. I don't get it.
