Thanked: 2284The Nite Owl Barbershop in Toronto
A friend of mine just read about this place in the National Post and sent me a message about it. Looks very cool, and by the description of his training, I'd be willing to give another Barber shop shave a try. Any you guys have experience here, thoughts?

If I could bring my own , or if he uses a rep straight, it might be fun, but the 2 times I've done a barber shave was with a shavette and the blades were not good , And I use a feather when I use replaceable razors, I dearly would like a shave in Livi,s shave shop. Tc

Thanked: 2284Yup, same here TC. We have a couple good barbershops locally, but the 2 shaves I had where from Dovo shavettes with Dorko blades. All 3 of us walked out bleeding and irritated. I told my buddies, the only way I'd get another one of those is from a 65 year old who has been doing it his whole life.
I could bring my roll of straights and see what he thought about using one on me like you said, that would be cool.Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....

Thanked: 250My last barber shave was when he switched from a straight to a shavette and I don't think he had his angle right. Not a good shave, it was like he gave up on me. When I got home I lathered up and finished the job.

They have to use shavette type straights now due to health codes from what I was told. Ive asked a bunch of different barbers now and really none like them.
Also if anyone's in the Burlington area check out Village Cigar Co. & Barbershop ,they're amazing. Also Hamilton and Toronto both have the Crows Nest Barbershop and have heard nothing of good things about them as well.
