^^its true^^
Today’s GTG was a hit and nobody fell down the new stairs. Although we did beat up the whiskey so if anyone did fall, I’d have an out, lol..
Thanks for the kind words gents. Still more to do, but the biggest tasks are done. Now it’s small scale tweaks to the designs.
And regarding the shave of that horrible scruff Tim, see the link at the bottom of the attached SOTD. :)

Cheers men.
Awesome job on the stairs Mike :tu
Glad to hear the get together went well too!!
My wife has a Friend visiting from Texas. Last night the wife told me that her friends SUV had a back door window that is taped in the up position because it won't go up and down and wanted me to fix it.
This morning I took it apart and found the regulator and motor is all one unit and the thing is cable-driven. Found the part in town and installed it. All good to go now. The cost was under 100 bucks.
For giggles, I looked it up to see what it would have cost for a shop to do the work. About 500 bucks parts and labor. Damn! And all I'm going to get is a thank you. Oh well, my good deed for the weekend. Took me about 3 hours and that included looking up and getting the parts. Guess it could have been worse. If she and I were younger I'd ask for a sexual favor, but that's out of the question. :rofl2:
That's pretty high. I'd say more around the 40.00 an hour range. I'm cheap!
If you were only worth $40 an hour you would have had to work for 10 hours...........
Nice fix, and good deed Jerry!
In my experience, and tom would know better, auto shops seem to charge basically double the parts price in labor when it’s just a parts swap job. So on a 500$ bill, before tax, 250 would be parts, 250 labor.
Shop overhead @ 30% leave 175$ for Jer Bear for his 3 hours work, before his own 30% tax hit on his pay, so 134$-ish take home for 3 hours work.
At least, that’s my math., hehe.
