Seems that the responsibility of filing a claim is MY Responsibility. Figures. Now I have to take the broken item along with the packaging etc down to the local post office and then jump through the hoops.
At least I should be able to keep the Model B burner------------except they installed a new style model 23 Gallery :banghead: Benz has offered to do testing to see if it will 'work' but I'm thinking just hang onto the 23 just for later. Maybe someone could get some use of the Gallery---------Benz??
I think toss the ball into their court. Send pics. The seller holds the receipt for shipping.
The policy is his as he shipped it. He can deal with USPS.
YOU only need to deal with Ebay. Send it back and get your money back.
Start over, Roy!
Thanks my friend, I just sent a message saying that I wanted to simply return the item for a full refund along with a refund for my shipping costs and included two pictures of the broken lamp.
I hate to seem to be a 'deek' but from what I can gather I have an excellent record as a buyer and that should count for 'something'.
There you go.
We all have underpacked things. That should have either a custom foam surround and fragile everywhere, or possibly in a sturdy, oversized box. suspended and supported.
I cannot imagine shipping that any other way.
Besides, Roy. You now have a chance to atone.
You have 2 functional Aladdin lamps and accessories!
Did you need 3?
OCD? I think so.......:rofl2:
Actually all three of the lamps came 'similarly' packaged. The one that arrived broken didn't have bubble wrap wrapped around the stem so that the 'bowl' and 'foot' were supported like the other shippers had.
As far as being OCD goes---my thoughts were that since I have three children there would be three lamps to leave to each one of them. Just like the three W&B 8/8's FBU's that I have.
Whether or not they would want either I don't' know. I would only hope that they would.

Roy! YOU are my long-lost DADDY! :rofl2:
Can we see the W&B's, please?
Sorry my long last child but there are only 3 FBU W&B's but there is also a single 8/8 that I'm sure was made in Sheffield. It has these guys' stamp on the shank.

I'm up to my ass in alligators right now and will be for the next couple of days but I'll 'try' to get pictures up on Monday.
Being your Bastard Child, I would happily accept that razor...:D
AND an Aladdin Lamp! :roflmao

Seems that Tom's not the only one with a Green Font Aladdin Lamp now Attachment 288141
This landed yesterday. I still need to fill it with kerosene and install a mantel but I think the wick still has quite a bit of use left in it.
