Thanked: 39Bad day when it should have been a nice one
Yesterday was my birthday (55) but woke up at 4:00am with one of my cats (one my top 3) but she was really my best one of them, making weird noises and stuff I get up and discovered she is having a seizure of some type, crying and moaning, I find a 24 hour vet and rush her in at 90+ mph., too late. The vet says it was probably a stroke, left me crying like a 4 yr. old she didn't pass away in pain (the vet was able to do that much for her). This is a nice vet, everyone was crying. I saved this cat maybe 10 years ago while in living Atl., She was black an white (black with a white vest.) 6 inches of show and ice on the ground and about 10 degrees, pulled out to go to work and at the only dry spot under my car is this ball of fur, I go to check it out and its a 4 week old kitten someone had abandoned. I saved her. electric blanket and some "cat milk" from Pet Smart saved her. She was about 10 years old. I have a bunch of camila flowers at her grave. She was only about 5lbs. at the most with crossed eyes and clubbed front paws. "Lil Bit" was her name.
Sorry for the long post, needed somefolks who would understand to talk to. I'll get a pic up later.
I called them up late afternoon to thank them and they all started crying again (I already was).Last edited by THORandODIN; 03-07-2016 at 02:47 PM. Reason: spelling

It is always a terrible loss. It seems that you had a wonderful decade that Lil Bit wouldn't have had without you. I'm sorry for your loss.

I do understand a cat sized hole in one's life. She was fortunate to have had your love for those years!

My condolences, lost a few great pets in my life too.
From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place

Thanked: 369Had to put down my 12 year old tabby last April 7 because of kidney failure. Was one of the worst things I've ever had to do. I kept trying to tell myself, "It's just a cat, dammit, just a cat." But she wasn't just a cat. You know what I mean.
