Easter 2016
Hi All,
Well Easter Weekend is upon us and I thought that I'd share something that I've admired for several years.
I find not only the artistic work amazing but the thoughtfulness that went into the planning of this work excellent.
A Very Happy Easter and 'KEESTER' to all and all you love

Thanked: 4207Happy Easter weekend to you and yours, and all my SRP brothers Roy.
Great vid, thanks for sharing.
Here's a lil taste of my day. Still listening to the boughs all breaking as I type this. We had ourselves quite the ice storm last two days.
Natures both beautiful, and powerful.
Cheers to all."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Since the grand kids still enjoy the 'egg hunt' I hard cooked a few/notice I didn't say 'Hard Boiled' as I haven't hard boiled an egg in about 20 years. I use my bamboo steamer. If I had to I figure that I could do about 3 dozen at a time.
And after a little Bunny Magic;
I hope to post before they become Deviled Eggs. I wonder if Glen remembers what I taught him last year after Easter? Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

If you want an earthy reddish tone on the eggs, boil them with yellow onion skins. Very rich tone to them.

Well it was a Great Easter, the egg hunt was lots of fun (still can't find one egg) the grand kids were so good and the food was better than I expected since I got thrown a couple of curve balls.
My daughter called yesterday and asked if we could have a late lunch instead of supper as her husband's sister had announced that that she was going to be in town so she and family needed to be at the in laws for supper. Being the understanding Redneck that I am I said sure.
I'd planned on having a Smoked Turkey and it was already in the curing brine. So I set an alarm for 2am to get things going. Once I was up I went to preheat the smoker and when I turned it on POOF! The heating element shorted out. Since number one, we don't have a store open at that time on night that sells those and number two even if we did I wasn't in the mood to go try to find one anyway so I put plan B in place.
I decided to just slow roast the bird which was something that I'd never done. Well it came out very good, nice and moist, tender and with the cure it had a different texture but all enjoyed it.
So the late 'Lunch' was the slow roasted turkey; canned green beans with onion, Italian sausage and mushrooms in chicken stock; dressing with turkey gravy, homemade rolls with butter and homemade blueberry jam and a peach pie for dessert.
I do hope that I'm forgiven for not taking step by step or even a 'Here it is pic' but I was up to my ass in alligators but believe me it seemed to have been enjoyed.

While I would prefer to have some goats to just 'eat the grass' instead of mowing it; I haven't been able to mow my back lawn before Easter (either here at the apartment or the home I had before the divorce) since my kids were little. First them and now the grandkids in between were nieces and nephews since I used to have a large backyard.
It's just no fun having the eggs lying out there in plain sight!
Many years ago we couldn't find One Egg at the egg hunt and about two months later my small son found it and was carrying it in his hand and said; "Look what I found" all I could say was; "Don't drop it! Just give it to me". I then gently placed it in the garbage can outside. I really didn't want to have that nasal experience. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
