Default The wonderful world of eBay

I was watching a Wosty with ivory scales on the bay. It was covered in rust and from what i could see had quite a bit of pitting. Really don't know how deep the pitting was but i could tell it way there. I did bid on it and really didn't know if i really wanted to take it on or not. The bid was low. When it finely sold it sold for 51.00 US. This was in my opinion too much for the condition. Now today i noticed the same razor on the bay and a starting price or buy it now price (i really don't remember) was 79 and change. In the past i've noticed this happening a lot. This brings me to wonder how many times the same razor was bought and sold on the bay. With shipping what it is i wonder if the post system is the one really making out. Name: wosty.jpg

Also I've noticed that sometimes items are 'sold' and relisted by the same seller because of a non paying bidder. Or the item was returned and is relisted.

I don't get it either. I see it happening too. It has never made much sense to me.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Another variable is shill bidding. Guy gets his friend to bid hoping that showing a bid will stimulate interest, or if there is action, drive the price up. Razor sells to his friend and he cancels the transaction and relists.
