Default Prince, music icon, dead at 57 at Paisley Park

We lost another 'greatest artist of all time'. I started following Prince since the mid 70's. Saw him countless times in concert. What a tragic loss.

    RIP

Although I am not a follower of pop. rock or hip hop I was shocked to read of the death of Prince. He was, above all a musician that composed and orchestrated in the veins of the classical masters. I rank his early work with the work of such as Ravel and Copeland: innovative, surprising and unforgettable.

    RIP Prince.

Man, this year has sure taken its toll.

He was an astonishingly talented musician, and will be missed.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Years ago in the mid 80's I worked as a stagehand at our local venue. I had the opportunity to work several shows for Prince during his Purple Rain tour. No other band treated us as well as Prince did. He gave us a catered prime rib dinner with all the fixins on purple tablecloths with white roses. He really cared about the support people that made his show tick.
He was a real "class act" and will be sadly missed.

The only Prince music I am aware of is Purple Rain album. I went to see the movie in the theaters. What else did he do? I haven't heard anything about him in years until now.

Sad that he died. I was never a fan personally but they say he was talented.

Without a doubt a monumental talent gone at such a young age...

Whether you liked his music or not, he was a musical genius. He could play any instrument well and certainly was creative, innovative, productive, and supportive of others.

I had read that he was suffering from the flu recently. I wonder if that was a cover for some deeper problem. I seem to recall that he had been suffering from some other health issue that required surgery but he refused it as it would have required blood transfusions which were against his religion as a Jehovah's Witness.
