Something had scraped the label and turned a 4 on the zip code into a 1 (or a 7 depending on whom you ask).

So 2 months after sending it out, it was back to me.
Luckily, the customer was pretty 'zen' about it.
This week I'll check the edge and then send it out again.

What kind of steel was it made of? You know steel has personality.
You may have created a Ramblin' Razor.
Mail it out again & it might tour the East Coast,,,

Funny thing zip codes. If you put a 6 where an 8 is supposed to go , the machine will send it to Huntington Beach even though the sort facility is in Anaheim. Another funny thing is they use the Zip code long before they pay attention to anything else,,,like what city you wrote down. AND that extra 4 numbers at the end....nobody at the post office knows what the hell they mean

With USPS putting a 9 digit Zip Code will make a difference. I sent out legal notices (car vs. power pole repair bills) for a power company. Started out using only 5 digit. Trying to increase my return rate and timeliness the company print shop/post office folks advised I put the 9 digit Zip Code on bottom in its own line instead of after the state. Turns out the sorting machines read the Zip. With the 9 digit code one to two levels of sorting are eliminated which can be another two days just for in state deliveries. I had a 26% increase with less no deliveries.

I found very few addresses that did have a 9 digit code assigned by USPS.

I could have tied it to a blind senior walking with prostate issues and had it make less stops than this package.
Next time give it to one of the hot air balloon in your area. They can get it there no problem. May have to drop it in from a couple hundred feet up but hey why not .......

Imagine living at the ars* end of Africa. Everything is a minimum 4 - 6 week wait unless specifically couriered.

    Waiting on the following:
    - 4 x Mystic Water tubs
    - 1 Gillette Fatboy
    - 1 Puma No. 63
    - 1 W & B

Starting to check my post office box on a daily basis for the soap and the Fatboy.

I once sent a razor from South Florida to New York by way of Honolulu, Hawaii. Wish I could travel that cheap.
