30 Year Anniversary of Chernobyl
Amazing that it's been that long. The place time forgot. Found this article. Interesting read. Wonder what they'll do after the first century is up?

Chernobyl has turned into one of the most important scientifically significant disasters in history...
I have nothing but a deep and abiding respect for the people that fought, and knowingly gave up their lives, to help bring the accident under some semblance of control. It takes a lot of courage to step up and consciously give your life for the common good. The term "heroes" is used quite a bit these days, but those men are fitting of that sentiment!

I know someone who was working there at the time of the accident. He tells some amazing stories of his experiences. He was in his mid 20's at the time. He still has his health and he is very thankful for that.
