Iphone 6 ringer problems
I noticed the volume on my iphone 6 automatically drops to the lowest volume setting recently. The other day I was listening to music while I ran and the volume kept dropping every couple of minutes. I would use the volume button to raise it again but it would revert to low setting. Since I first became aware of it I remembered not hearing the ringer a couple of times earlier in the week.
I've turned the phone off and rebooted but the volume is still reverting to low. I downloaded the latest update a week ago or so. Has anyone heard about a bug in the lastest iphone updates? I also dropped the phone in a creek when I broke through the ice this winter so I guess it's possible that is causing my issues but wouldn't I be seeing other problems too?

Does it do this just sitting on a table, without a case or cover on it?

My wife has one of those cantankerous I phones and the thing is always doing strange things. She is always running to the apple store to fix the thing.

No cover Hirlau. Yeah I can turn the volume up and sit it down on the table and it reverts to low volume within a couple of minutes. I can even see the ringer window pop up and the volume bars go down.

I've never had any issues with my volume self-adjusting and I can't see anything in the settings that would possibly be a cause.

Did you try closing all of your apps through double pressing the home button, then sliding all the open apps up? Also, do you have the Facebook app?

Yeah, I tried closing all apps, turning phone of for several hours, rebooting. When I went to Sounds under Settings, the adjustment bar automatically went to low setting if I tried to slide to high setting. No Facebook app.
Funny thing, the sound is working okay today.

This problem has been occurring for about month and a half now. (Mid April was the first time I saw it). 9 out of the 12 I have fixed were caused by facebook messenger. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app to fix it. 2 were caused by oddball apps that I had never heard of. 1 was caused by a broken volume button.
So if you have facebook messenger, I'd reinstall it, reboot the phone, and see if that fixes your problem.
