Default Fire Flies aka Lightning Bugs

At my my brother-in-laws in Kentucky.

Last night there were hundreds if not thousands of them in his back yard.

I have not seen this many since back in the '50s. Saw a few in Minnesota, none in Wisconsin. It was like going back to my childhood.

It was a beautiful sight on a summer evening.

I thought the poisons had about wiped them out. Hopefully, they are making a comeback.

Thank you for the memories. Been a long time since I've seen any. Just saw a couple last summer; perhaps because I live by a river. Fireflies placed in canning jars and transported to my bed room, my mind is enjoying the remembrance.

Last night I noticed them for the first time this summer.
