Default What do you do to cheer up?

What do you do when you are having one of the worst days ever. I could use some advice.

Tablespoon of Dave's Insanity Sauce. Doesn't really cheer you up, but it's distracting as heck for a few hours.

Bring my razor and strop into the bathroom, lock the door, have a "full treatment" shave. That or go to my crawl space/workshop and work on restoring a razor or making scales.

Go fishing in the summer, hunting in the winter, and exercise everyday to keep my sanity.

I run as many miles as it takes for the endorphins to kick in.

If running isn't an option, I call it an early day, or at least call time out, and do something I enjoy.

If all else fails... the magic words are:

    This too shall pass.

Sorry to hear you're down. When I have off days I lavish extra attention and play time with my children and that never fails.

If family's not an option: glass of wine (glass, not bottle to drown sorrows!), reading material, or a good ol' fashioned film.

Or just a relaxed, pampered, full works, attentive shave does the job too!

Hey, tomorrow's a new day with new solutions. Hope you get it sorted.

    Best,
    Mark

I don't mean to get off topic here but I think (from my own experience) that people handle life and its issues somewhat differently. By this I mean , for ex., that I can't understand having good or bad days --- either my life is going well or it isn't, it tends to be in chuncks of months or years - not days. If my life is going well then bad days don't exist (everything is taken in stride and put into it's proper place). If my life is going poorly, then good days do not exist and everything is out of wack. I can't really understand having a bad day ----doing something fun to counteract it ---and then moving on to a good next day. I (my brain) tends to work on an all or nothing principle --if I'm off --then I'm off for a while ---if I'm on then I'm on for a while --- and it takes a considerable situation or effort to change it the other way.

I would like to give you advice but I can't really because I can't relate --- but I know about half year funks (or more) and year(s) long highs or good times ----

I have a neighbor that says every other day that she is having a bad day and the next she is happy and content --- I really can't understand this.

Don't mean to waste your time here and hope you feel better.

I always think of it in increasingly small waivy lines.

The lines with the longest waives represent years, the next smallest are months, then weeks, then days, then hours.

This is a bad week on the lowest day, in a neutral month, and a good year.
