It's not so much they get better treatment as they can afford good legal counsel as opposed to some legal aid attorney who is overworked or incompetent.

It won't change a thing. I listened to the whole thing live and I got the feeling he thought she should be punished and maybe hard. It just wasn't in his power to do it. The justice dept. still can do a lot I don't expect anything more to be done. Hard not to bring politics into something so political :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

He thought that the case doesn't raise to a legal punishment, but a political one is warranted and that one is a matter of the american people.
Given Donald Trump I don't think it's going to cost her the presidency, but it doesn't have to. She will have much less political capital and flexibility in the future.

His statement preempted the justice department from doing anything (and they've now officially stated that on the FBI's recommendation the case is closed) - the standard process is for the FBI to submit their recommendation directly to DOJ and let them decide what to do without making any public statements.

But in the current political environment he clearly thought it is important for the FBI to step way out of the norm and strongly make the case that she what she did (1) doesn't warrant legal action, however (2) was irresponsible, reckless and may have allowed malicious parties to obtain sensitive information and can not be taken lightly.
